It's time to change our window display and this time we wanted to do something

summertimey. We decided nothing says summer more than kites!

Here's how we crafted our own fabric display kites:

First, we had to hit up Joanns Fabrics where we picked up some sweet and

whimsical fabric remnants. Then it was on to Michaels for the rest of our supplies.

Crafting our kites...

Cut dowels and wrap with twine...this is the spine of the kite.
We did 3 different sizes.

Cut notches in the tips of each dowel and thread twine through notches.

Place kite frame over fabric, leave an inch wide border and cut.

Fold fabric over twine and fuse with iron-on hemming tape.

Cut leftover fabric into strips. Tie strips together with knots...this is the kite tail.
We embellished a few of our kites with glittery butterflies...

and added a cloud made of cardboard and lace!

We absolutely adore our cute kite window.

The weird and wonderful Addams Family Broadway Musical is now playing

at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles from June 5-17! And who doesn't love a

good Broadway musical, huh?

Introducing Fiona Hewitt...

We are big fans of the amazing accessory line Classic Hardware and we have been carrying

the line in our boutiques for over 10 years. They just shipped us the newest collection and all the artwork is from a wonderful new artist named Fiona Hewitt. She's an illustrator and expert in

Asian kitchology! She has spent endless years trawling flea markets and junk shops in Beijing,

Shanghai, and Hong Kong and has tried to recreate the sweet sentiment and attention to

detail found in vintage Asian packaging and Chinese toys. Her work is fabulous and we

are so happy she has teamed up with Classic Hardware! Here's a peek at some of her work as well
as some of our newest arrivals from the Classic Hardware/Fiona Hewitt collection. We heart!

What's goin' on in there?

Our new SUO location opened in Brea last Friday! It was a crazy weekend and we are very

pleased with the turnout. For those who haven't had a chance to stop by yet, we thought

we would post a few pictures of the shop and some of the wonderful new items

we are carrying.

We absolutely love how big our windows are!! They let the natural sunlight in!

We have a large selection of handbags and our Brea location will be carrying SHOES!
YAY!!!

They are designed around aromatherapy and the science of color & mood. They even added a sustainable
wooden wick for a comforting crackle!

why so blue?...

Happy Monday, everyone! This week we wanted to spotlight the color cobalt blue!
We all know that the color blue is considered a calming, soothing color; however

not ALL shades of blue are serene and sedate. Electric blues and cobalt blues become

dynamic and dramatic when combined with other brilliant colors like coral, yellow or

turquoise. Most of this seasons colors team up well with bright blues. In fact, we would be hard pressed to find a springtime color that doesn't work

well with this blue!

Add a third color if you're going to wear cobalt blue with a white skinny.
We're loving yellow!

Oversized perforated tote...it has so much shine, it almost looks
like a patent leather.

We love cobalt with black..especially for evening. This open ladder back tank is the perfect
length to wear with this adorable sequins short! This look could definitely use some matte silver
bangles to add a little jingle-jangle.
